THREAT PROMPTS MORNING LOCKDOWN AT MARATHON HIGH; STUDENTS & STAFF SAFE

Students and staff at MHS were under lockdown for more than an hour after the school reportedly received a recorded bomb threat on the morning of Dec. 10. While officials told the Weekly they do not believe the threat was credible, multiple law enforcement agencies conducted a full interior and exterior sweep of the school and its campus.

The lockdown was lifted around 11:30 a.m. after no cause for concern was found, and classes proceeded at the school as scheduled, though large numbers of parents elected to take their children home early for the day.

A voice memo sent to parents by principal Christine Paul confirmed that all students and staff members are safe.

The Weekly will update this story as more information becomes available. Last update: 11:50 a.m.
