TRIO OF CONCH WRESTLERS GO UNDEFEATED AT BEAR DOWN DUALS

The Southernmost grapplers participated in the Bear Down Duals at Mater Lakes Academy on Dec. 13, finishing 3-2. The Conchs destroyed Miami Norland 72-9 and beat Immokalee 56-24 and Mater Lakes’ B squad 63-24. Mater’s A squad outscored Key West 58-17 and Miami Southwest bested them 53-29. 

On the girls side, Yannesie Corrales was undefeated at Mater after registering a pair of wins. For the boys, Michael Guzman went 5-0 at the meet. Also unbeaten was Key West’s big man, Allens Alexandre, who capped off a week in which he received his second collegiate offer for football with a 4-0 day on the mats. Sandy Horn went 4-1 and Kyle Condela and Richardson Aristerne were both 3-2.

This week, Coral Shores will host Marathon on Dec. 18, then all three of Monroe County’s wrestling programs will be represented at Key West’s tournament on Dec. 19 and 20.
