All summer long, visitors and locals in the Keys will find huge mats of Sargassum floating in what locals call “weed lines” just offshore. These weedlines can be home to numerous species of fish, turtles and other sea creatures, including seahorses and even juvenile sportfish like marlin and tuna. On this day, local Deven Ellis takes a look under a nearshore patch of Sargassum to see if there might be something worth bringing home for dinner.
