Community members joined Islamorada Chamber of Commerce board members in unpacking boxes full of branches to build the Christmas tree next to the Islamorada Visitor’s Center in front of Founders Park. The small group donning masks spent the morning and early afternoon of Dec. 5 bringing the tree to life. At 6 p.m. the switch was turned as the tree lit up the nighttime sky in the village.
