Graduate Rafael Centeno, who earned an associate in arts degree, gave the student address to his fellow graduates. He also presented the Faculty of the Year award to nursing instructor Laura Cox. Caitlin McCall, an “eco-preneur” and marketer for marine conservation businesses, received the 2022 Alumna Award. Jonathan Gueverra, president of the college, gave the President’s Award to Lori Bosco, aquatics director of 35 years, before delivering the keynote address to the class.
The college debuted its first ceremonial academic mace at the event. An institutional symbol of strength and authority, the mace reflects CFK’s unique values and personality. Crafted by local artists, the design combines media, consisting of pewter, glass, and wood from a tree that grew on campus.
The full graduation ceremony can be viewed on the college’s Facebook page at facebook.com/TheCollegeoftheFloridaKeys.
