Marathon High School gave locals a homecoming to remember on Oct. 8 to 10, starting with an annual parade down U.S. 1 for hundreds of fans on Thursday.

Led by grand marshals Jason and Kate Koler and fronted by the MHS marching band and color guard, the procession featured all of the school’s fall sports teams and several clubs. Tasked with the open-ended theme of “movies” for their floats, each class showed off their gridiron-themed creation, from Despicable Me minions and superheroes to the creepy-crawlies of Monsters, Inc.

A nailbiter of a game on Friday night saw the Dolphins narrowly edged by the Eagles of St. John Paul II Academy, while the school crowned Billy Roberts and Itzi Gale as its 2026 Homecoming King and Queen. A dance for students on Saturday night rounded out the festivities.
