Monroe County State Attorney Dennis Ward announced that county resident Tyler Howell Nolan, 24, was sentenced to 18 months in Florida prison after violating the terms of his felony probation.
The sentence was imposed by Circuit Judge James Morgan. Nolan was previously convicted in Monroe County of one count of child abuse and eight counts of sexual cyberharassment. He was arrested in February 2024 for these crimes, which involved the unlawful and nonconsensual creation and distribution of pornography — a form of digital image-based abuse commonly known as “revenge porn.”
As part of his initial plea, Nolan served time in the Monroe County Jail on Stock Island and was placed on probation. Earlier this year, Nolan was arrested and convicted out-of-county for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, which violated his Monroe County probation.
On Aug. 19, Nolan admitted to violating his probation. His probation was revoked and he was sentenced to 18 months in Florida prison. At his sentencing, the Court noted the severity of his underlying crime and the permanent impact on Nolan’s victim.
“Let me be clear: our office has zero tolerance for image-based sexual abuse,” State Attorney Dennis Ward said. “Image-based abuse causes lasting harm to victims, and our office is committed to pursuing justice in every instance. Those who exploit others through nonconsensual pornography or harassment will be held accountable. Protecting victims and preventing further harm is our highest priority.”
“This case is a reminder to anyone who thinks about engaging in these crimes: if you traffic in sexual exploitation or harass others with private images, you will face aggressive prosecution,” said Chief Assistant State Attorney Joseph Mansfield.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant State Attorney Trey Evans in the Upper Keys office.
