A jailed Marathon man at the Monroe County Detention Center on Stock Island is facing charges after he reportedly broke the nose of another inmate on Dec. 3.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, 30-year-old Cordney Mallory Hayes allegedly struck a 59-year-old male victim unprovoked with his fist, breaking his nose. The victim was treated at Lower Keys Medical Center on Stock Island.
Hayes has been in jail since Nov. 30 on unrelated petit theft and obstruction charges.
