American Caribbean Real Estate’s team member Joel Young was recognized on Nov. 4 with the Irving Eyster Award for his volunteer service within the community and his commitment to the Islamorada Chamber of Commerce, on whose board he has served for 10 years.
The Eyster award, named after a leader and community advocate, celebrates individuals who have made significant contributions to the betterment of the Florida Keys through their volunteer efforts. Young, a real estate agent, embodies the spirit of this award with his journey and continuous efforts to make a positive impact.
“While Craig (McBay) was reading the story of why I was receiving the award, I was overwhelmed with gratitude and started reflecting as he mentioned the organizations and events I had been involved in over the years,” Young said. “I started thinking of all the people who were an intricate part of it all. They are the reason I’m getting the award. Their commitment to the organizations and support made it all come together for our community.”
Young’s volunteer service began with the Key Largo Rotary Club and the Upper Keys Jaycees, where he made contributions and formed lasting connections with his fellow volunteers. Young also expressed his appreciation for all the volunteers who have played a role in the success of the organizations of which he has been a part.
