KEY WEST ATTORNEY FILLS COUNTY COURT SEAT SPACE IN THE MIDDLE FLORIDA KEYS

On Sept. 10, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of attorney Derek Lewis, of Key West, to serve as Monroe County’s newest judge.

Lewis has worked as the managing attorney for Derek A. Lewis P.A. since 2001. Previously, he served as an assistant state attorney in the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida and his law degree from Nova Southeastern University. 

Lewis fills the vacancy created by the elevation of Judge James Morgan to the circuit court.
