The Key West library is holding the first Key West BookFest on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the library, 700 Fleming St.
The event is free and open to the public. You do not need to have a Monroe County Public Library card to attend.
BookFest will include more than 25 local authors, who will have open mic sessions in the library’s Palm Garden. You can meet them and purchase books. Harpist Steven Allerton will be playing, and refreshments will be served.
The Florida Keys History Center will also be open for a “meet the historian” open house, where Lead Historian Corey Malcom will have original manuscripts and historical documents on display.
The Friends of the Key West Library will be holding a used book sale and signing up Friends members.
The library has a small parking lot behind the building, with the entrance off Elizabeth Street. It is also a stop on the free Duval Loop bus route.
