As this paper is being printed, 28 of the fastest feet in the Keys are making the annual trek to Tallahassee to compete in the 2023 FHSAA state cross country championships. Marathon High School’s top seven boys runners – Vance, Tony and Jakub Bursa, Dillon Shelar, Mason Buxton, Allan Taylor and Adrien Holdinga – will appear in the meet for the ninth consecutive time, while the Lady Fins’ top seven of Ella Dunn, Mikkel Ross, Rain Banks, Maeve Merryman, Sara Robinson, Madelyn Thornton and Rebecca Merryman will make a fifth straight appearance.
