No matter how many individuals appear in the pages of each edition of Keys Weekly, there are always so many more of our community members who deserve to be recognized. In an effort to shine a spotlight on more of the incredible individuals who live and work in these islands, Keys Weekly is proud to spotlight our Neighbor of the Week feature, dedicated to celebrating a community member with each issue. This week’s neighbor has a heart for health care and a passion for our community’s well-being. For almost two years, Christina Greer has worked with the Marathon Area Health Education Center (AHEC). Her role as practice manager and tobacco treatment specialist is vital to addressing the primary health needs of our area.

How did you end up in the Keys? I was vacationing with my husband and realized we needed to move here. So, I ended up taking a job with Lower Keys Medical and Keys Medical Group right around COVID-19.

If you have a bad day, what’s the best way to cheer you up? I just go outside and look at the water.

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you? When we bought our home in the Keys, we filmed for HGTV.

What’s one thing that’s on the menu that you don’t want to try? Eggplant.

What song gets you on the dance floor? Bob Marley’s “Could You Be Loved.”

If you could have lunch with anyone, who would it be and what would you want to eat? I would say Hemingway honestly. I’d want to eat the fresh catch of the day.

What can people find you doing when you’re not working? They can find me relaxing on my porch, kayaking or fishing.
If you could improve one thing in the Keys, what would it be? The no-see-ums.
