OBITUARY: Steven Flood

Steven Flood passed away on Feb. 18, 2021 after a long hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida on May 30, 1955. He and his wife, Marie, owned and operated Flood Plumbing Inc. until 2005 when they retired and moved to their vacation home in Key Colony Beach, Florida.

He is predeceased by his parents, Genevieve and John, and son, Tony. He leaves his loving wife of 42 years, Marie; a son, Steven Jr., (Daniel) of Littleton, Colorado; a daughter Therese Flood, (Charity) of Port Richey, Florida; a grandson, Blake, his fishing buddy, a dearly loved granddaughter Reign; niece Tyler and nephew Tucker of Huntington, West Virginia, nieces Shauna and Sarah and nephew Caleb of Jacksonville; brothers Alan (Maresa) of Vilano Beach and David and Bradley of Jacksonville.

Steve loved the aquamarine water of the Keys. His favorite place to be was his home that he and Marie built in 2008. He loved life and could always be counted on to liven up any gathering. His favorite pastime was fishing and he was a damn good fisherman. He was fishing four days before he passed with his daughter, grandson and friend, Dan. The family couldn’t be more grateful to his friend, Dan, who took him fishing until the end. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.

There will be a funeral mass at San Pablo Catholic Church in Marathon, Florida on Friday, March 26 at 1 p.m. with a service at Southern Keys Cemetery in Big Coppitt Key following.
