Work in the Middle and Lower Keys came to a temporary halt on June 10 as a dump truck traveling north on Overseas Highway reportedly snagged overhead phone and cable lines crossing the highway on Grassy Key. The broken lines became tangled with a transmission power line, cutting all power south of Snake Creek in Islamorada, the Florida Keys Electric Cooperative said. The one-hour power outage ended around 11:30 a.m. after quick work by FKEC crews, but residents continued to report issues with internet and cellular service throughout the day. FKEC/Contributed
