TREK ON THE OLD HIGHWAY: ISLAMORADA’S PETER FREZZA CRUISES TO VICTORY

From the Old Highway, Peter Frezza cruises into the Coral Shores High School parking lot to the finish line.

Sounds from an airhorn rang throughout the air as runners and walkers set off from the starting line at Coral Shores High School for the annual Old Highway Run on Nov. 15. A picturesque morning and a flat course made the annual 5K run and walk an enjoyable one for the 120 plus race participants. Islamorada’s Peter Frezza crushed the course, reaching the finish line first with a time of 18 minutes and 6 seconds. Anthony Pallaria, of Islamorada, came in second at 19 minutes and 33 seconds. Jessica Mather was the first female to cross the finish line at a time of 21 minutes and 32 seconds. Organized by HNO Productions and Henry Menendez, a portion of the race proceeds will go to Coral Shores High School. View the results at oldhighwayrun.com
