On Holocaust Remembrance Day, Tuesday, Jan. 27, the community is invited to an evening of reflection, remembrance and education as Chabad of Key Largo honors the 6 million Jews murdered during the Holocaust.
Holocaust survivor Laszlo Selly will share his deeply personal story of survival, resilience and hope. As a child, he endured the horrors of the Holocaust. Selly’s testimony offers a rare and powerful firsthand account of one of history’s darkest chapters, and a moving reminder of the strength of the human spirit and the importance of remembrance.
The program will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Key Largo, located at 99701 Overseas Highway. The event is free and open to the public, though RSVP is required by visiting ChabadKeyLargo.com/Survivor .
Holocaust Remembrance Day is a time not only to mourn the victims, but also to reaffirm responsibility to stand against hatred, antisemitism and intolerance in all forms. By hearing directly from a survivor, the hope is that attendees will gain a profound understanding of history and the lessons it carries for future generations.
This gathering serves as a call to listen, to bear witness and to ensure that the voices of those who suffered are never forgotten.
Community members of all backgrounds are encouraged to attend this meaningful evening of remembrance.
