Stanley Switlik Elementary is welcoming a dozen new faces at the Middle Keys for the 2021-22 school year. They range from newly credentialed locals to transplants. If you see them at the grocery store, give them a Keys welcome.
Miriam Hribar

- Hometown: I am from Argentina, but I’ve been a citizen since 2003. I’ve lived in Marathon since 2000.

- Why did you decide to become a teacher: I decided to become a teacher when I was a teenager; I love to teach science!
- What is your teaching style/philosophy: Discover the world, take care of it because it’s our home.
- What are your hobbies outside of school: I love to travel, spend time with my friends, draw whatever is around me and watch my novelas.

- Why did you decide to become a teacher: I’ve always enjoyed spending time with kids and it’s why I want to guide them toward academic success.

- What are your hobbies outside of school: My hobbies include spending time with my husband and three kids outside, on the water or at baseball games.

- Why did you decide to become a nurse tech: I just graduated nursing school and I have a passion for helping children and I wanted to explore the area of scholastic nursing.

- Why did you decide to become a teacher: I have always enjoyed helping others. Becoming a teacher means I get the opportunity to work with and help kids become the best they can be.
- What is your teaching style/philosophy: I wholeheartedly believe everyone has the potential to achieve their dreams with the right amount of support, hard work and perseverance. I am lucky enough to help kids reach their goals every day.

Regina Saller-Paskiewicz

- Hometown: Marathon, Florida (Originally New Jersey, but have lived in Marathon since I was a kid)

- How long have you been in the Keys: 40 years
- Why did you decide to become a teacher: I enjoy being around children and seeing them light up when something “clicks.”
- What is your teaching style/philosophy: Since this is my first full year teaching, my style/ philosophy is a work in progress. Respect for self and others will be a big theme this year.
- What are your hobbies outside of school: I like to read, spend time with my husband and kids, and boating.
