OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE CITY OF MARATHON:
STAY IN PLACE, STAY SAFE
The City of Marathon’s main objective is to return first responders to Marathon by air or land, to allow for medical and recovery support as soon as possible.
Everyone who is in Marathon needs to remain safe, even when wind subsides.
BE PREPARED FOR MORE RISING WATER.
No emergency services are available as of 11 a.m. this morning and will not be for some time. Tune in to US1 104.1 radio as they are providing regular updates.
“We all need to be mentally prepared for the after effects of Hurricane Irma,” said Marathon City Manager Chuck Lindsey, “but Marathon is very strong. Our town has collectively moved mountains to help others. Together we are going to be able to overcome.”
