Locals need to be appreciated and how better to show the love than discounted food and drinks at the most popular restaurants in town? Every September, like summer cicadas, residents emerge from their air conditioning, clutching a Monroe County ID, and ask , what’s the best deal in town? This year, there are lots to choose from, from a $5 specialty cocktail to half off your favorite gourmet dishes. Have a look and maybe even try a new place just for kicks depending on the special.

  1. 2 Cents Restaurant and Pub, 416 Appelrouth Lane

Local Special for 2 Cents 50 percent off all food for dinner Sunday – Wednesday from 6 to 11 p.m., not available with any other discounts, must show local ID.

September Weekly Wine Down: Sunday through Thursday, 4 to 8 p.m. during September, receive half pricing on all bottles of wine. Along with this blowout deal, locals will also receive special pricing on Bulleit bourbon and rye for $6, Crown Royal Original, Apple and Vanilla for $6 daily 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with local ID through Sept. 30.
