For the past four seasons, Coral Shores senior Jenna Mandozzi has not only been on the Hurricane soccer roster, but in the starting 11. This season, Mandozzi earned a captain’s armband with strong leadership and confidence on the field. She has the remarkable ability to step up her game and shine when the team needs her the most, and she did just that last week in the team’s district playoff match. Mandozzi netted a goal and assisted on another to boost the Lady ’Canes past the first round and earn a semifinal match in the playoffs. Her strong play and focus on competition caught the eye of North Carolina Wesleyan coaches, where she will continue to play next year. For her excellent game play, and steady presence with a competitive edge, Jenna Mandozzi is the Keys Weekly Athlete of the Week.

“Jenna has been an integral part of our team’s success this season.” – Zach Owens, Coral Shores soccer coach

Tracy McDonald
Tracy McDonald fled to the Keys from the frozen mountains of Pennsylvania hours after graduating from college and never looked back. She and her husband met at a beginning teacher meeting in 1997 and have three children born and raised in Monroe County. In her free time, McDonald loves flea markets, historical fiction and long runs in the heat.
