JOIN US AS COUNTY TALKS TRAFFIC & OTHER ROADWAY ISSUES – TODAY AT 5 PM

TRANSPORTATION MASTER PLAN PUBLIC MEETING

Monroe County will be holding a virtual, public meeting and presentation regarding the new Transportation Master Plan on Wednesday, July 14 at 5 p.m via Zoom. A data driven presentation curated and created by AECOM regarding the future of U.S. 1 throughout the county will be the main feature of discussion, with the overall goal of this meeting being to present findings from previous meetings and to gain additional feedback from locals on a myriad of short-term (for implementation in the next 1-5 years), mid-term (6-10 years for implementation) and long-term (implementation in the next 10-20 years) transportation solutions. Opinions on and possible solutions for the following will be addressed: “roadways, signals, signage, and marking improvements to address traffic issues and/or multimodal solutions addressing the needs of pedestrians, bicyclists, and public transit.”

Some of the most important questions that were previously asked of the public in previous meetings (and that will be available to answer again at some point during this meeting) in this new presentation include the following:

What do you see as critical locations that need improvements along US1?

Traffic patterns affected by COVID-19?

What are the top 3 critical transportation needs?

What are potential solutions?

What are your visions for the future of US1?

You can also possibly provide information on your modes of transportation as well as comments on transit, pedestrian/bike, congestion, water-based connectivity.
