The History of Diving Museum in Islamorada is hosting its sixth annual art exhibit involving K-12 art students, member artists of the Art Guild of the Purple Isles (AGPI) and the museum. This year’s exhibit is known as “Dive Into Art: Coral Creations Show.”

The show opened Jan. 17 with a private reception for students, parents, school officials and participating artists with the Art Guild of the Purple Isles. The exhibit is available for the public to view through April 17.

In keeping with the exhibit’s theme, the show will focus on the reef and will include a variety of coral and all the life that it supports; fishermen, divers, birds and sea life. Along with the student exhibits, member artists of AGPI will display reef- and marine-themed artwork in all mediums. More than 60 pieces will be available for purchase.

AGPI is a not-for-profit group of artists supporting the visual fine arts in all media and photography in the Upper Keys. Diane Smith and Mary Ellen Holler are AGPI event co-chairs. The History of Diving Museum is located at MM 83 in Islamorada. Museum hours run from 10 a.m. to  5 p.m. daily.
