With record high temperatures recorded in Marathon over the last few weeks, snow cones were a welcome sight at city council candidate Ingrid Tyree’s ‘Family Fun Day’ on Sept. 10. Hosted in the lot across from Marathon’s First Baptist Church on 62nd Street, the day provided four bounce houses, games and prizes and cotton candy as the 200-plus attendees made short work of more than 300 hot dogs and snow cones. “I couldn’t have asked for a better event. It was great to meet all the brand new families in town,” said Tyree. “It gave me so much joy to see these kids running around.”
