Dozens of children and their families flooded Stanley Switlik school on Oct. 24 for its annual Halloween Carnival. Organized as a PTO fundraiser, the event was complete with a haunted hallway, varied food offerings, carnival games, a silent auction, and even the coveted chance to “pie” dignitaries and teachers in the face.

As one of the first events that opened to parents on school property since the completion of the Switlik renovation, the PTO was challenged to start from scratch and reimagine the event.

“It was such a great turnout,” said event organizer Kate Chaffin. “It was great to be back on school campus in person. We want to thank everyone in the community who supported the event, from our sponsors to everyone who attended. From all the silent auction items that were donated, food items that were donated to serve at the event, and everyone who attended, we were able to raise approximately $10,000.”
