It’s back. “The Rocky Horror Show” musical is back at the Waterfront Playhouse for a 10-performance run.

Playing at 8 p.m. Oct. 18-27, audience members will join the revelry and do “the time warp again.”  Tickets are on sale at waterfrontplayhouse.org.

“The Rocky Horror Show” is a musical with music, lyrics and book by Richard O’Brien. A humorous tribute to the science fiction and B horror movies of the1930s through early ’60s, the musical tells the story of a newly engaged couple, Brad and Janet, getting caught in a storm and coming to the home of a mad transvestite scientist, Dr. Frank-N-Furter. The doctor unveils his new creation, Rocky, a sort of Frankenstein-style monster in the form of an artificially made, fully grown, physically perfect muscleman complete “with blond hair and a tan.”

The original London production of the musical premiered at the Royal Court Theatre (Upstairs) in June 1973. It later moved to several other locations in London and closed on Sept.13, 1980. The show ran for a total of 2,960 performances and won the 1973 Evening Standard’s Theatre Award for Best Musical.

Audience participation bags will be available for $10 and will include a boa, party hat, noise maker, card, newspaper, flashlight and instructions on how to join the cast for “The Time Warp.” Audience participation through call-backs and costumes is welcomed.

The cast features Christopher Peterson as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, who is taking on this role for the third time. He played Miss Tracey Mills in “The Legend of Georgia McBride,” Miss Bette Davis in “Me and Jezebel,” Judy Garland in “Typhoon Judy,” a bio musical on the late great Judy Garland, and as Bernadette in “Priscilla Queen of the Desert.”

Jack D’Emilio and Jillian Todd appear as Brad and Janet. Last season Todd was seen in “An Inspector Calls,” “Escape to Margaritaville” and “Rock of Ages,” while D’Emilio debuted in “Rock of Ages” and “Kinky Boots.”

Lauren Thompson, Ray West and Carolyn Cooper will play Magenta, Riff Raff and Columbia. Riley Vogel will play Rocky. Mathias Maloff is Eddie. John McDonald is Dr. Scott and John Swann is the Narrator.

Tom Thayer will direct, Michael Boyer will design, Kim Hanson will design the lights and Roberta Jacyshyn will direct the live band.
