Hi friends! Reef the fox here with your weekly “Reef’s Report.”

It’s Thanksgiving Day, and boy oh boy do I have a lot to be thankful for this year. First and foremost, I am thankful to be alive. Thanks to my human mom, Nicole, who flew all the way to Minnesota back in May to rescue me after I had been pulled off of a fur farm at just 10 days old. I am thankful that my little sister, Coral, was saved one month later and mom brought her home in July to live with me. I am thankful that the four adult foxes that live here are happy and healthy. We are all respected for the individuals that we are and live a life most fur farm animals never will.

So on that note, I am thankful for all of the companies that decided to ban using real fur in their products this year. The list is long, but a few are Canada Goose, Neiman Marcus and Yves Saint Laurent. And get this: The city of Hallandale Beach in Florida passed an ordinance on Nov. 17  that bans the sale of fur, effective immediately. They are the first city in the state of Florida to pass a fur ban, so now I wonder, who will be next in the Sunshine State?

We are truly grateful we live in a county where we don’t see fur, but wouldn’t it be cool if our county commissioners adopted a fur ban into effect that would prohibit the sales, just in case?

So if anyone is reading this and wants to pass it along to our county officials, have their people call my people. I would be happy to meet with our local government officials to share my story and how protecting all fur-bearing animals is so important.

Just to recap last weekend, Coffee With Coral at One Grind KL was a huge success! So many amazing people came out to meet Coral and learn more about us! Even some of our Upper Keys deputies stopped by. They might have thought that K9 Coral was going to be there but they were definitely surprised when it was fox Coral. Maybe K9 Coral will join for the next “Coffee With Coral” event next month? I’ll have to call her, I do have her number because I am important like that.

Anyway, that’s all for this week. Happy Thanksgiving; I am thankful for all of you too!
