Liz Kuck and Patrick Stevens take the podium’s top spot in a recent CrossFit competition on the mainland.

Liz Kuck and Patrick Stevens of Keys Strength and Conditioning in Marathon took first place in the recent New Year’s Revolution held in Tampa, Fla. The competition consisted of opposite-sex teams of two competing in novice, intermediate, Rx and masters CrossFit division. Kuck and Stevens completed four separate events consisting of multiple exercises testing strength, power, endurance and stamina. Three other teams from KSC were part of the competition: Rob Christiansen and Alyssa Perry; Denise Gomez and Michael Lyne; and Darrell Birkheimer and Cara O’Neil. Kuck said the best part of the competition was the prizes — two slam balls (70 and 100 pounds, respectively), and a women’s barbell and men’s barbell. “They are new toys for our clients to play with,” Kuck said.
