Veterans Day celebrates the formal ending of World War I on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918 and is a national holiday observed for all honorably discharged Veterans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

“On Veterans Day, we stand united in gratitude and respect, honoring those who answered the call while recognizing that each act of service contributes to the strength and freedom of our community,” said Monroe County Veterans Affairs Director Cathy Crane. “Their courage inspires us to honor their legacy not just on this day, but every day.”
