A RAINY DRAW

Canes battle through conditions for 1-1 tie

Despite heavy rain and gusty 20- to 25-mph winds, the boys high school conference game between Coral Shores and Keys Gate on Jan. 17 was played with much composure. Caleb Danko (10) of Coral Shores scored with an assist by Noah Butler (3) to start things off in the first half. The lead did not last long, as Jeremey Amador (12) of Keys Gate scored from a free kick, also in the first half. After seeking shelter from the rain and wind during halftime, both teams came out recharged and ready to fight for the lead. A long, aggressive half of play and one yellow card from either team ended in a draw with the score of 1-1.
