$200K donation from D’Asign Source funds Habitat Middle Keys’ 105th Street build

While accepting D’Asign Source’s plaque for the company’s most recent donation, D’Asign Source estimator Anthony D’Ascanio unearths a golden shovel used in a 2002 Habitat groundbreaking project – on what would eventually become current Habitat board member Cindy McKnight’s home.

One of the Middle Keys’ newest affordable homes was made possible in large part by a monumental donation from a premier builder in Marathon. ‘D’Asign source, the Florida Keys coastal home experts for over 60 years, have been a monumental partner of Habitat for Humanity since 2008,’ Habitat Middle Keys executive director Chris Todd Young said in a press release. ‘Their most recent act of generosity came through their participation in the 2026 Florida Community Contribution Tax Credit Program, resulting in a $200,000 donation earmarked for our 105th Street build.’

The statewide program offers Florida businesses tax credits or sales tax refunds of up to 50% for cash, property or goods donated to approved community development and low-income housing projects.

‘In the past 18 years, D’Asign Source has been a beacon of support, contributing over $800,000 to our organization,’ Young said. ‘We are profoundly blessed and thankful for this incredible partnership that has helped us make a difference in the lives of our hardworking island neighbors.’
