Cases jump to 49 in Monroe County

The Florida Health Department is now reporting 49 positive cases in Monroe County, of which 43 are residents and six non-county residents.

Of the cases, 21 are travel-related and 15 are community-acquired. Thirteen are under investigation.

Of the local cases, 24 are from Key West, nine are from Key Largo, four from Tavernier and two from Marathon. A resident from Islamorada, a resident from Key Colony Beach and a resident from Summerland Key have also been confirmed.

Seven remain hospitalized.

Statewide, 14,504 confirmed cases have been reported. A total of 137,375 have been tested.
