Off the Hook provides daily hot lunches

Off the Hook restaurant on Caroline Street prepares and gives away a free daily hot lunch from 11 to 11:30 a.m.

Everyday is a different meal: pasta, taco, burger, pizza, breakfast sandwich, etc.,” said co-owner Patricia Cassavell. “It’s first come, first served, and we feed anywhere from 60 to 80 people each day, for some people, it’s their only meal for the day.”

A recent lunch featured one of the most fully loaded, giant baked potatoes ever, heaping with vegetables, bacon and so much more.

The restaurant remains open for takeout and delivery offering its full menu, but they’re currently closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
