No matter how many individuals appear in the pages of each edition of Keys Weekly, there are always so many more of our community members who deserve to be recognized. In an effort to shine a spotlight on more of the incredible individuals who live and work in these islands, Keys Weekly is proud to present our Neighbor of the Week feature, dedicated to celebrating a community member with each issue.
Our neighbor of the week is Judy Nguyen, who owns the Oasis Nail Spa in Marathon. When she’s not working 7 days a week, she loves to travel on cruise ships and go anywhere there are beautiful beaches.

How long have you been in the Keys and what brought you here? My husband and I have been here over 20 years now. We were in the Virgin Islands before moving here and in North Korea before that.
What is your favorite thing about living in the Keys? The weather is good and there’s no drama. There was too much drama in the Virgin Islands! It’s too crazy over there. It’s much better here.
What’s an unusual app nobody would think would be on your phone? I sometimes watch TikTok videos. I know they are dumb but I like them.
What was in your last Amazon package? Toothpaste. We needed it!
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? Always be a person who can give a service of some kind.
What is an extravagance that you love to do? I love going shopping in Miami. I like getting the entire outfit all the way from the shoes to the earrings and purse.
If you were stranded on a deserted island what food would you miss the most? Spicy Thai food. It’s my favorite.
What is your favorite go to Keys meal? Anything pasta related from Frank’s.
If you could have lunch with anybody, dead or alive, who would it be? My client Chelsea for sure. We have so much fun.
My husband would say I am… Crazy but hardworking.
The title of my autobiography would be… “The Story of a Nail Technician.”
Hands or feet? Hands.
What’s one thing most people don’t know about you? If I have a problem, nobody knows. I’m really good at keeping things inside.
