On a recent trip offshore with Dallas Hopper (Fantastic II charters), I mustered up the courage to hop in at 1,600 feet to photograph a school of mahi behind the boat. I starting shooting and realized my camera settings weren’t set for fast moving objects and quickly changed them to fit the scene. Upon returning home I was stoked to find this shot of a mahi which turned out looking more like a painting than a photograph. The shot ended up turning into my favorite from the shoot.
