Key West’s annual Headdress Ball, one of the highlights — literally — of Fantasy Fest, is not your kid’s costume contest.

Now in its 43rd year and sponsored by the Key West Business Guild, Headdress Ball is a sight to behold, as some of the most clever and creative craftspeople fashion a wearable headdress that’s head and shoulders above all the rest.

Part costume contest, part variety show, the Key West Business Guild Headdress Ball is always the height of Key West creativity.
