Library Park freshened, set for opening

Over the last few months, Library Beach Park at MM 81.5, bayside, in Islamorada, had been closed to the public in part due to the COVID-19 pandemic and to undergo sewer-related improvements. The park was one of three properties involved in a larger sewer system connection project that also included Islamorada Fire Station 20 and the Islamorada Library. Additional park improvements included the installation of new sod and sand. Concrete was poured June 22, which after curing allowed for the park to be reopened. The park, like others in the village were closed through the Fourth of July weekend. All parks in the village including Library Beach Park opened on July 7. They’re open at 50% capacity now through Labor Day. VILLAGE OF ISLAMORADA/Contributed
