The Florida Keys History & Discovery Center, in partnership with Islander Resort, welcomed Florida Freedom Tour on June 30 as part of the statewide America 250 commemoration. A traveling outreach initiative designed to bring history directly to communities across the state, the Florida Freedom Tour’s visit to Florida marked its journey to the 67 counties. The tour features two mobile exhibits exploring key chapters of Florida history. One focuses on Florida’s role in the American Revolution, while the other highlights the state’s growth and development in the 20th century.
In conjunction with the tour stop, the Florida Keys History & Discovery Center offered free museum admission throughout the day.
