College of the Florida Keys seeks local professionals for teaching gigs

The College of the Florida Keys invites local professionals from the teaching field and across industries to a reception and teaching expo on Wednesday, June 24. CFK’s Keys to Teaching is an expo for subject-matter experts, seasoned professionals and community leaders interested in sharing their knowledge as full- or part-time faculty.

The event will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the library on CFK’s Key West campus. Guests are invited to attend a reception, meet current faculty, discover teaching opportunities across academic disciplines, career and technical education, continuing education and accelerated skills and credential training. Live teaching demonstrations and campus tours will also be provided.

CFK is actively seeking educators and industry professionals. Keys residents across all backgrounds from business, health care and emergency services to technical trades, government and the arts are welcome. Qualifications for teaching vary by program type, ranging from advanced degrees and industry certifications to years of hands-on experience in a field.

“Teaching at CFK is more than a profession; it’s a commitment to community, innovation and student success,” said Milan Hayward, executive vice president of academic affairs. “Whether you’re exploring adjunct or full-time opportunities, you’ll find a collaborative, forward-thinking environment where your expertise helps prepare students for personal success and responsible citizenship.”

CFK serves students from Key West to Key Largo and is committed to drawing on the professional talent already living and working throughout Monroe County, including alumni who have gone on to build careers in the community. Depending on academic discipline, program area or course type, teaching opportunities may be scheduled for daytimes Monday through Fridays, evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of CFK’s student body.
