Key West local Adley Kirk has qualified for the Under Armour Junior Tour National Championship golf tournament Feb. 18-21 at Saddlebrook Golf Club in Tampa. More than 200 junior golfers from all over the country will compete in the event.
Adley and her brother Teagan played the fall season of the Under Armour Junior Tour based in Orlando in 2021. The fall tour consisted of six events and the total points scored in those events were used to determine who qualifies for the National Championships. Adley finished in the top six in her age group to get an invitation to play in the Nationals in February. Teagan had very tough competition in his age group and finished in the top 10, but was not able to qualify.
Adley practices and plays at Key West Golf Club and trains with LPGA coach Kellie Edelblut at the David Leadbetter Golf Academy at Champions Gate, Florida.
Being fairly new to the game with only 14 months of playing and practicing, this is Adley’s first national championship. She also loves acting and writing music on her guitar but she and her brother have an infectious passion for golf and they hope to continue pursuing a possible college career and perhaps beyond.
